Permanent make-up (PMU) or micropigmentation is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. With an ultra-thin needle and pigment, the shape of the eyebrows are enhanced resulting in a beautiful and natural look.

The eyebrows are the most important part of the face: they frame the eyes and give the face expression. Eyebrows that are too light, too thin or non-existent can be naturally enhanced and improved with micropigmentation. For example, using hair stroke, shading methods, or both, depending on the client’s wishes and skin type.

Digital device vs. Microblading

What is the difference between using a digital device and microblading? The Digital Device is a reliable consistent system that provides optimal results in less time and is the preferred method of Brows by Shaila. Its digital technology base ensures a stable needle frequency and maximum needle penetration, allowing perfect pigment color retention. It can be used to create hair strokes and ombre techniques. Microblading is performed by placing pigment or ink in the dermis with the use of a hand tool with attached needles fused together in a curvilinear grouping. It can be used alone to create natural looking hair strokes or combined with digital device for shading to create a more defined look.

Permanent makeup is not completely painless, but thanks to the latest computer-controlled equipment and anesthetic creams there is minimal discomfort. Every client is different, some will feel vibrating or scratching and some will feel nothing at all.

For who is permanent makeup suitable?

Almost everyone. Women and men who want to look great at any moment of the day, for those who need corrections or for people with allergies to regular makeup.

How long does permanent makeup stay?

In general, permanent makeup will always be present. The intensity of your permanent makeup fades in the course of time. However, this is completely dependent from person to person. This is partly due to the natural cell renewal, the immune system and the influence of UV light.

Can I still apply regular makeup?

Yes. Permanent makeup is not intended as replacement for evening makeup, it serves in particular to accentuate. Additional makeup can always be applied.

How long does the treatment take?

Generally it takes about 2 hours, including the consultation, drawing the shape, color choice and pigmentation procedure.

For best results, you should avoid caffeine, alcohol, aspirins or any other forms of painkillers 48 hours before your appointment. Also, please inform Brows by Shaila if you are taking any supplements as they will affect how your treatment will heal.

Is there any special after care?

You may expect slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for the first 2 days. Keep the treated area lightly glossed with vaseline for the first 7 days or until completely healed. Always use a clean cotton swab and not your fingertips. Some itching is normal so please do not pick or scratch the area as it may result in color healing unevenly. No make-up, tinting, sun, soap, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming in chlorine pools or in the recreational bodies of water, and no sun exposure until completely healed.

Is the end result immediately visible?

No. The first week, the pigmentation is significantly darker than the final result. Within the first week of healing the intensity of the color will become about 40% softer. Due to the natural cell renewal, the end result of pigmentation will be visible after a period of approximately 3 to 5 weeks.

Is permanent makeup safe?

Yes. Brows by Shaila works only under the strict rules of the Health Authorities. For every treatment a new sterile needle is used which will be destroyed immediately after the treatment.
